Liz is the Labour MP for Leicester West and has represented the constituency since May 2010. Liz currently undertakes the role of Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care.
Before entering the House of Commons, Liz was the Director of the national organisation representing all NHS ambulance services, the Ambulance Service Network. As Director of the Maternity Alliance charity, Liz also campaigned for rights to flexible working, improved maternity and paternity pay and leave and better health services and childcare.
Liz has previously worked as the Associate Director for health, social care and children’s early years at the Institute for Public Policy Research and as a researcher for the public health programme at the King’s Fund, focused on tackling local health inequalities.
