COVID-19 emergency food programme

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are running an emergency food programme to protect children and their families from hunger. Hot meals and food packages are being made available, through a combination of home deliveries and collection points in the community, to ensure families on low incomes can put breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the table each day. A donation of just £10 can purchase the equivalent of 30 meals for a family at risk of hunger.

£45 of £100 raised

I turn 30 on 9th April and had been planning all sorts of shenanigans to celebrate – a meal out, a party and a trip to Sri Lanka. Covid-19 has put a stop to that and instead I’ll be spending it without most of the people I love, at home. It’ll be hard, but nothing compared to the hardship that will be faced by the 1.3 million famililes who rely on free school meals to ensure their children have at least one hot, filling meal a day. It is predicted that school closures could leave 3 million children with empty tummies. Feeding Britain is stepping up it’s operation and mobilising to keep at risk children fed during this period, by opening community kitchens and delivering meals to families who are self isolating. If you would have bought me a drink or given me a present for my birthday, please instead donate the money to feeding Britain. Thank you!
