World acclaimed chef, restaurateur, and television presenter Gordon Ramsay today announced a partnership with the award-winning charity, Feeding Britain, to tackle hunger across the UK.
Gordon was struck by the extent of child hunger across the UK, with 800,000 children in poverty at risk of going hungry during the school holidays and 1 in 10 households suffering from food insecurity. The partnership announcement follows months of conversations and a recent visit by Gordon to a Feeding Britain project in South London, which combines year-round access to affordable food with priority support for children and young people during school holidays.
Gordon will be amplifying the charity’s work and raising awareness of the challenges facing families who currently struggle to afford or access food. He will focus on the charity’s school holiday programmes, which will create a minimum of 60,000 places for children, at 150 clubs across the UK, providing much needed food during the 2026 school holidays.
Gordon comments: “I remember vividly what it was like growing up in a household with very little money. It’s painful to reflect on the fact that so many children growing up today are living with that same constant fear of being hungry, particularly in the school holidays. Feeding Britain is doing something really special and powerful to help those children, and that’s why I’m delighted to support the charity’s vital work with personal financial support from myself and Tana, as well as raising awareness of childhood food poverty and the incredible network that Feeding Britain supports to help children across the UK. We also need to create additional fundraising opportunities to help more families, more children, during school holidays, which is the most difficult time of the year.”

Andrew Forsey, Feeding Britain’s National Director, adds: “Gordon’s support for Feeding Britain will transform the work of our charity. The cruel reality is that all too many families are struggling to put food on the table, but with Gordon’s help we can put this right. We are enormously grateful to Gordon for our partnership, not least because of the experience he has shared with us of his upbringing and, linked to that, why this work is particularly close to his heart. His passion for the cause is palpable.”
Professor Greta Defeyter, Trustee of Feeding Britain, adds: “I am delighted that Gordon is working with Feeding Britain to increase the number of children and young people able to access support during school holidays. He fully understands the need for stigma-free meals, both in primary and secondary schools, and also during the school holidays where clubs provide children and young people with meals alongside opportunities to engage in enriching activities.”
