Every child needs a safe and nurturing place to call home, and the chance to achieve their potential. Sadly, not everyone is so fortunate. Nearly 1.3 million children in the UK are dependent on schools for their only hot meal of the day.
A child’s need is not just limited to food, but it’s also important to nurture and encourage them to learn each day. Creating an enabling environment where children can engage in extracurricular activities is essential for their health and well-being especially in times when we are looking forward to a summer restricted to indoor activities.
By starting this new initiative and taking Feeding Britain’s mission one step forward, we intend to provide children with creative activities such as drawing, colouring, reading, making things, and so on. Creative experiences can help children express and cope with their feelings during this pandemic crisis.
So, let’s help these children and make their summer more enjoyable. Please contribute towards this new initiative in whatever way you can. Original resources or donations of craft, activity and stationery would be gratefully received. Alternatively, you can donate through our fundraiser – https://feedingbritain.org/donations/garima-nayyar/
Every little helps! Thank you!
